Small-Sided Game Program Spring 2022
Our focus for our youngest players will be on building confidence on the ball through games to encourage balance, coordination, agility, vision, individual ball handling skills, 1V1 to 3V3 defending/attacking, and of course, having LOTS of fun.
Your player will be part of our Friday Small-sided Game Night Program. Players will be demonstrating what they have learned during the week, showing us their creativity, enthusiasm and enjoying our cheering at the games. Games are scheduled for September/October and may look a bit different than in the past to accommodate any state mandated COVID restrictions.
PRACTICE: All practices will be held at the YCSC Arena (behind the Carlton Market) starting Monday, March 28th.
Meanwhile, all registered players are welcome to attend our free summer programming!
Note: No cleats at the arena, running or court shoes and shin guards please. Bring a water bottle (name on bottle please). If you provide a snack for your player, please do not bring it into the Arena. Low glycemic, health snacks are great before or after their training session.
Please walk your young players to and from the arena gate, No children should be alone in the parking area.
Park perpendicular to the concrete barriers/cones. DO NOT park near or block access to garbage/recycle containers and always provide clear access for winery trucks /trailers through property.
A waiver is now required for everyone who enters the arena play area. ARENA WAIVER

Note: It is best to start your player at the level they will be most confident and comfortable. It is much easier to move a player up than down. If you have a question about what level is best for your player please call Coach Karen.
GAMES: Friday nights April 8th through May 13th at the YCSC Turf field (cleats suggested & shin-guards required). New teams will be formed for each week immediately following check-in. More game info to follow.
PARENTS: Our young players should have a parent at/near the pitch during every practice and at games. We want our young players to feel comfortable and confident and have a parent to attend to them for any personal needs. At games, parents should cheer, but please refrain from directing your player. Soccer is a sport that requires the development of vision, decision making and creativity. If you tell your player what to do, you are ultimately limiting their growth potential. If your player is missing an aspect of the game and you want to help, try gently asking them questions that can lead to self discovery.
Please contact me with any concerns or suggestions at anytime during the season! We want this to be the best experience possible for every player. Thank you for signing up for the YCSC 2022 Spring Program, its going to be a fantastic season!
Welcome, Coach Karen
